Exhibits of photography and video have now become so technologically seemless that - the digital photo-mural is a commonplace exhibition format for wall size displays. Composed within a familiar rectangle and only as deep as stretcher and canvas, the formal presentation (sans surface texture) mirrors that of mural painting.
State of the art techno slickness is a only a curiosity, but the next generation of artists will include those writing in code; what benefits can the gallery bring above the freedom and comfort of domestic viewing. With the conferring of the status of "worthy of exhibit" how does the curator re-present work in a gallery as distinct from a domestic view?
