I wanted to see how the tips of the branches looked when photographed against the light, its all there down to the pixel level and the abscence of noise (grain) in the sky is spooky. When running on automatic this camera gives the feeling of effortless description, everything now devolves to the eye and post production, when previously the making of the negative had been everything.
Am I hiding behind the overlayed words? Maybe but I want to address the window of view, and how it can be be fractured. The words and branches as contrasting elements, were selected in an almost random fashion. As trivial as the demonstration of how almost any music track can be played against almost any film track, some pairings work better than others, but many pairings seem to "work" giving latitude for mood. Using words in this way however risks the danger of a collection of bon mots. "My generation fucked the planet" or "There will be no paper on the Starships" - this latter phrase could perhaps best summarise my concerns.
